The Steinbach Arts Council turns 40 this coming year and their Chief Creative Officer says there will be no shortage of activity.

Cindi Rempel Patrick describes one of the most notable and long-awaited changes the coming year will bring. “One of the highlights will be the Co-op community project we received funding for. It involves renovating the interior and exterior of the centre and the addition of a creative learning space for outdoor programming to take place.”

Co-op gave the Arts Council $65,000 last July to give their centre a much-needed facelift and two months later council matched the grant, giving them a total of $130,000 to pour into this work.

Beyond this substantial facility upgrade, Rempel Patrick says they are excited for a new lineup of events. She mentions another musical on the horizon, one she says is sure to be a “blockbuster” in the community.

Rempel Patrick also anticipates their annual fundraising gala which, this year, is taking place in the form of a dinner theatre; a format they have never tried before.

“There’s lots to celebrate as the Steinbach Arts Council goes into its 40th year.”
