The cause of the fire that ravaged a Blumenort business on Sunday has been determined.

Hanover Fire Chief Paul Wiebe says he investigated the scene today and found that an electrical cord providing power to a piece of equipment in the shop had malfunctioned and sparked the blaze. The damage, he notes, is estimated at $200,000 dollars.

Wiebe says the decision whether or not to declare the shop a total loss will be up to the discretion of the owner.
