Another week has come and gone and yes...we've got some good stuff to share!  If you see good stuff going on, please let us know!

Frozen shaving cream fun!

Niverville toddlers are being encouraged to play with frozen shaving cream, glitter, and slime all to join in on some shenanigans! 40 families from around the community are participating in a fun hands-on experience and that is definitely good stuff!

 A shoe-in for success.

Local Operation Christmas Child Shoebox stores have closed up for the season.  And organizers consider this season another success in spite of a pandemic causing extra work and lower numbers of boxes this year.  Seeing the happy faces of volunteers packing boxes bound for South America and western Africa?  Good stuff!

 Beauty in the freeze.

Winter might not be everyone's favourite, but Landon Kroeker at Buffalo Point Resort is certainly showing us a beautiful side!  He shared some photos from the lake freezing and this is good stuff!

Crafty crafters craft a way.

Oh yes, they did!  Despite cancellations of basically every craft market this season, some local crafty artisans figured out a way to sell their art!  Introducing 'A Covid Christmas Craft Market', a virtual craft market featuring local artisans.  This is good stuff!

Bringing smiles with bread.

Now, THIS is good stuff!  Freshly baked bread delivered secretly to random people?  Yes please!  Joan van der Linde is a baking machine and is on target to make just shy of 1000 loaves of bread in a year!

Learning from a 9-year-old.

Sadie Lafreniere didn't like the feeling she got watching a movie where the characters didn't get any Christmas gifts.  It bothered her so much she decided to do something for kids in the southeast.  She and her brother Cooper sold eggs to buy gifts for this year's Toys Days taking place next week.  This is inspirational and very much is good stuff!

A must-have Christmas accessory.

The fashionable set in Steinbach now has another accessory to add to their shopping lists. Familiar Steinbach landmarks on Christmas masks are flying off the shelves at local vendors. Every single dollar raised from these "fashion must haves" is heading toward South East Helping Hands.  The generosity and creativity of local businesses is definitely good stuff!

A thankful and thoughtful gift for Woodlawn staff.

Parents of Woodlawn school students are very thankful for the work and sacrifices made by teachers and staff.  So thankful that they decided to shower them with some gift cards.  Less than one week and they raised just about $1300 to purchase gift cards from local businesses.  This is good stuff!  Thank you to all our teachers!

Local heroes all over the place!

We are hearing stories of some amazing local heroes and this week was no exception!  We heard about the sacrifice of Christine, the positive, life-giving attitude of Carla, and the caring, selfless way of Monique. These nominators, the stories and the example are good stuff!

Good stuff gallery

We saw lots of good stuff this week and would LOVE to see more for next week!  Let us know what you're seeing that is good stuff!

  • Larry Trush spent some time at the Paradise Village pond and met up with a bird and a muskrat!
  • Local photographer Victoria Koehler thought it would be fun to get creative with her camera and a friend!  Over a 60 minute period, they set up and combined 4 different images. "we planned out where we would be in each one and what we would be doing ahead of time. We had so much fun making it!" What a fun idea and a memory for the scrapbook!
  • Danica Rouire is on staff at Ste Anne Hospital and shared this photo from a generous donation this week to the staff. "Thank you to the kind souls who dropped this off for the staff at the hospital, and for the awesome drawing! Also big thanks to the anonymous group of 'misfit elves' that brought us various gift bags to different departments at the hospital. Your kind gestures are GREATLY appreciated."
  • Sunrise Corner Tourism held a photo contest earlier in the month.  They were asking people to show their best photos of the Sunrise corner of the province and the winners were announced!
    • 1st place - Rebecca Kittleson with "Double Rainbow".  She found the pot of gold at the end of this incredible rainbow on Highway 12 near Middlebro.
    • 2nd place - Sandra Drewniak with "Peek-a-boo Sun". She captured the brilliant sunshine streaming through as clouds raced across the sky over the Roseau River in Stuartburn.
    • 3rd place - Carrie Dokken with "Chasing Autumn". She captured a beautiful moment with her children frolicking through the leaves looking for fairies near Piney.
