The Board of Directors of the Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame are patiently waiting to induct the class of 2020.

The Induction Banquet, which was to take place May 3rd of last year and is traditionally held the first Sunday in May, has been on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2020 class includes Jeff Stoughton's 2011 World Championship team with Steve Gould, Reid Carruthers and Jon Mead; Darcy Robertson's 1984 Canadian Junior Championship team with Barb Spencer, Janet Harvey and Barb Mehling; 3-time Manitoba and Brier champion teammates Vic Peters & Chris Neufeld; Karen Purdy who won Manitoba junior, mixed, and three Scotties Tournament of Hearts championships along with a Canada Games gold medal between 1989 and 1995; Resby Coutts whose 50-year career as a curling volunteer led to two terms as President of CurlManitoba and a term as Chair of Curling Canada’s Board of Governors and Ernie Oliver who is acknowledged as the driving force behind the establishment of 2-person stick curling in Manitoba.

Clayton Dreger asked Manitoba Curling Hall of Fame president Peter Nicholls to comment on the delay in getting the 2020 class into the Hall of Fame
