Steinbach RCMP have provided an update on the fatal collision that occurred on Thursday in Mitchell.
Emergency crews were called to the crash near Ash Street in Mitchell at 6:30. RCMP note the vehicle was traveling east on Highway 52 at a high speed when it struck another car, lost control, and rolled. The 37-year-old male driver, from Zhoda Manitoba, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was not injured.
Police indicate alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, they add the deceased was not wearing his seat-belt.
The investigation will continue with the assistance of RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
