St. Pierre is hosting the Winter Family Fun Day at the St. Pierre Rec Centre this weekend.

President of St. Pierre area advisory board, Jordan Karpinchick, says they are fundraising for the facility.

“The rec center is in walking distance for pretty much everyone that lives inside St. Pierre and a short drive for communities like Otterburne and St. Malo.”

Karpinchick says the event will be a great opportunity to chat with other people in the area.

“It's a great place to hang out, meet new people, and catch up. We're hoping that people come in from all over the place to support and have some fun."

He says it’s an event for everyone, and he hopes to see people from the surrounding communities at the event.

"We're hoping to draw people from all over, definitely the RM of De Salaberry and the surrounding areas,” he says. “It's for a really good cause with people that use the facility or have hosted wedding socials and things like that."

He says Winter Family Fun Day is somewhat of an annual event.

“We kind of started with Winterfest back in 2019. And we ran that for two years, kind of an outdoor festival,” he says. “And then last year we joined up with the St. Pierre Frog Follies board to run a winter festival inside the rec center.”

Winter Family Fun Day is on Saturday, Feb. 18th. During the day, Rat River Recreation is running bouncy castles inside of the hall.
