If you have a last minute Christmas gift to buy, you will want to be aware that some stores in Steinbach are closing earlier than normal on Christmas Eve. 

For example, Shoppers Drug Mart will already be closing at 8 pm on Saturday. Canadian Tire will stay open until 4 pm and Clearspring Centre until 5 pm. Sobeys, Superstore and Walmart will close their doors at 6 pm.

Speaking of Clearspring Centre, General Manager Gerald Jeske says it has been a great Christmas season at the mall. 

"We are seeing a large upswing in business in the mall and property especially the addition of two restaurants," adds Jeske. "Having all the Christmas events back has brought back shoppers and Santa has been a big hit this year."

Meanwhile, it does not appear that any of the big retail stores in Steinbach will open crazy early on Boxing Day this year. Store hours for Monday are as follows:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart - open 8 am to 10 pm
  • Superstore - open 8 am to 8 pm
  • Canadian Tire - open 9 am to 5 pm
  • Sobeys - open 9 am to 6 pm
  • Walmart - open 9 am to 7 pm
  • Clearspring Centre - open 10 am to 8 pm

Steinbach Aquatic Centre, Jake Epp Library and Mennonite Heritage Village will be closed all day on Monday.
