Flood forecasters in Manitoba are watching a storm system in the U.S. to see how it might impact water levels in the Red River Valley. Up to 25 centimetres of snow is expected in Fargo, North Dakota by Friday afternoon.

The province has now pushed back the expected crest date for the Red River. It is now expected to crest between April 25th and 29th at Morris and Ste. Agathe.

The forecasted peak has also been raised. At Morris, it is expected to crest at a level between 11 and 33 inches below 2011. At Ste. Agathe it is expected to be between 13 and 31 inches below 2011.

Partial ring dike closures are underway at Emerson and St. Jean and expected at Morris, Letellier, Ste. Agathe, and St. Adolphe.

The Red River Floodway is expected to go into operation early next week.

Highway 75 north of Morris is expected to be closed to traffic later next week.
