Three goals against in the first period put the Steinbach Pistons behind and despite coming close later in the game, they could never get it back to even eventually falling 5-2 to the Dauphin Kings on Wednesday night.

Coming off a dramatic overtime win in game three, the Pistons were looking to come out strong but instead, it was the desperate home team that would strike first.

After an icing call against Steinbach, Dauphin won the offensive zone faceoff and floated a puck from the point through traffic and in to make it 1-0.

That lead would grow to 2-0 just a few minutes later.

It looked as though Steinbach cut the lead in half but instead of being down 2-1, the Pistons were called for goaltender interference and ended up on the penalty kill still down 2-0.

That power play resulted in a King's goal that gave Dauphin a 3-0 lead.

Simon Harkness started in goal but was replaced to start the middle frame by Will Hambley

In the second, the Pistons began to claw their way back.

Quinton Pepper continued his hot play of late scoring on a rebound from a Zac Patrick point shot to get Steinbach on the board 3-1. Braden Birnie also picked up a helper.

Patrick would score his first of the post-season later in the second as a seeing-eye point shot made its way through traffic and cut the lead to 3-2. Zach Power and Josh Nelson were given credit for the assists.

Before the period came to an end, Steinbach had a chance to tie the game on a power play but just couldn't get anything going. The Kings refused to let the Pistons set up or have time on the man advantage.

The period came to an end with Steinbach down just a goal.

In the third, another glorious opportunity came in the form of another power play but yet again, Steinbach couldn't get any momentum or puck control in the Dauphin zone.

After the successful penalty kill by the Kings, they marched down and scored the backbreaker, 4-2 for the home side.

A goal off of a rebound later in the third ended any hopes of a Pistons comeback as Dauphin defended home ice and tied the series up 2-2 with a 5-2 win at Credit Union Place.

Steinbach's penalty kill gave up a goal on their only short-handed duty of the evening while the power play finished 0-3
