Harvest season has begun for a grower who farms along the Red River between St. Jean and Aubigny.  Lorne Hamblin, along with his family, seeded just over 3,000 acres of wheat, oats, barley, soybeans, and faba beans this spring.  He says, compared to 2005, things are looking very good.  Hamblin notes his early seeded fields are in good shape, but areas seeded later due to flooding this spring have been impacted by the recent hot and dry weather.  He began cutting his barley Monday, and expects to put down most of his cereals in the next couple of weeks.
