We are heading into Easter weekend which means a shift in business hours.

Ben Dueck is the Executive Director of the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce. He reminds residents that most businesses will be closed for Good Friday.

“Good Friday is a stat or general holiday in Manitoba so that means, for the most part, businesses will be closed as per regular Sunday shopping guidelines in Steinbach so we have some restaurants gas stations and convenience stores, they will probably be open. Most of those will be but pretty much every other retail and business is closed.”

Dueck adds the Steinbach Aquatic Centre, Jake Epp Library, and Shoppers Drugmart will also be closed on Friday.

Though Environment Canada is calling for a chilly weekend with flurries and highs of minus seven on Friday, Minus nine on Saturday, and minus three on Sunday, driving conditions should remain favourable for those traveling for Easter gatherings.

Many local churches are holding special services for both Good Friday and Easter Sunday. A full list of local churches can be found in the Steinbachonline Business Guide.
