A fog advisory is in effect for much of southern Manitoba. Thick fog overnight is expected to create near zero visibility in the lower part of the province.

Environment Canada says a southerly flow of mild, moist air will produce fog Thursday evening in areas along the American border as well as in the Red River Valley and in the low-lying areas of southwestern Manitoba. Travel is expected to be extremely hazardous.

Conditions will gradually improve Friday morning but low cloud and patchy drizzle are expected in some areas. Strong southerly winds will develop Friday afternoon and allow conditions to continue to improve through the day. Unseasonably warm conditions will continue through Saturday.
