A teenage boy from St. Pierre has died from his injuries, following a head-on collision Sunday evening.

At approximately 6:20 pm, St. Pierre RCMP received a report of a two vehicle crash along Highway 59, approximately half a kilometre south of Prefontaine Road or Road 43 North.

Initial investigation has determined that a southbound pickup truck, driven by a 17-year-old male from St. Pierre collided head-on with a northbound pickup truck being driven by a 58-year-old male from Winnipeg and his 45-year-old female passenger.

All three individuals were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the 17-year-old died of his injuries yesterday.

According to RCMP, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Police say visibility was clear and the roads were dry with a small strip of snow on the centre line at the time of the collision.

The investigation continues with assistance from an RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
