The Carillon Sultans picked an opportune time to record their first win over the Pembina Valley Orioles. The Sultans, who dropped all five games to Pembina Valley during the 2011 Manitoba Junior Baseball League regular season schedule, outscored the Orioles 6-5 on Tuesday night in Morden in game one of their best-of-five quarterfinal. Nick Drews and Jamieson Krentz drove in two runs each during Carillon's four-run third inning. Brett Hiebert picked up the win as he went the distance. Game two goes tonight in Steinbach.
