The Carillon Sultans played the Manitoba Junior Baseball League's top two teams in week two.

The long ball hurt Carillon Wednesday night in Altona. Arlen Peters homered twice and Trent Peters also went deep as the Bisons downed the Sultans 8-2. Carillon got both its runs in the top of the first inning on an rbi single by Luc Lagasse and Carson Epp's bases loaded walk.

Carillon played host to the defending Manitoba Junior Baseball League champion Elmwood Giants Friday night at A.D. Penner Park in Stienbach. The Sultans and Giants were tied 6-6 when their game was called due to darkness. Stef Lagasse singled home the tying run with two out in the bottom of the 10th inning. Cy Brandt had two hits and three rbi for Carillon.

The Sultans (2-3-1) have a busy week. Carillon will meet the Pembina Valley Orioles Wednesday in Morden; host the Interlake Blue Jays on Friday and then play a doubleheader against Altona Sunday at A.D. Penner Park.
