Steinbach's growth rate has hovered between 4 and 5 per cent the last 5 years. If that rate continues, our population will surpass 17,000 people in only 9 years.  That was the message Mayor Chris Goertzen presented to Steinbach Chamber of Commerce members Wednesday in his annual state of the city address.  Mayor Goertzen says overall it's been a very good year for the new council.  He says everything is going according to plan and council is spending time with long range planning in order to prepare for continued growth.  Meantime, the Chamber of Commerce now has a couple of new faces on its board of directors.  It was announced Hannu Nurkkala and Todd Harder have replaced Robin Steel and Teresa Kehler-Falk.
