The Steinbach Fire Department was called to two separate multiple vehicle collisions within the span of five minutes Saturday afternoon.

Assistant Deputy Fire Chief Mike Penner says the first collision took place at the corner of McKenzie Avenue and Brandt Street at around 2:45 p.m.

"We had an SUV that was traveling east on McKenzie and at the corner of Mckenzie and Brandt there was a van that was traveling north and they collided. There was one patient in each vehicle, EMS looked after them and they both signed refusals."

Collision at the corner of Main and BrandtDeputy Fire Chief Ron Chausse says the second two vehicle collision happened approximately five minutes later.

"We are on scene here at Main and Brandt Street, two vehicle MVC, we have the northbound lane closed. We will be closed for about a half hour while we get things cleaned up, there are no injuries to report here."

Chausse says each of the two vehicles had a single occupant.

Emergency services had roads closed at both locations for approximately 45 minutes while they cleaned up the two sites.
