A student from Steinbach Regional Secondary School has been charged after bringing a weapon to school Monday morning.

At approximately 9:40 am, Steinbach RCMP received a report that a student had brought a firearm and bear spray to school.

Police say no one was physically injured.

The youth has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

RCMP are commending SRSS staff on their immediate and appropriate response to this incident.
