Merik Bowles scored 21 seconds into overtime to lift the Eastman Selects past the Yellowhead Chiefs 5-4 Sunday afternoon at the Sun Gro Centre in Beausejour. Kaycee Coyle, Isaac Gordon, Luke Mistelbacher and Trey Sellen scored in regulation for the Selects who saw their 12-game winning streak come to an end Saturday with a 4-1 loss to the Chiefs.

 

Ginger Fast and Kaylee Irwin scored in the shootout as the Eastman Selects edged Central Plains 3-2 in Portage. Irwin and Bethany Wielgosh scored in regulation for the Selects who received a 38-save performance from Mia Jones.

 

Quinn Keller, Braeden Rebeck and Devon Weimer scored first period goals as the Springfield Xtreme downed the Steinbach Huskies 6-2 at the T.G. Smith Centre. Noah Lorentz, Brody Welsh and Brayden Kizlik also scored for the Xtreme who moved into a tie for first place in the Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League with the Lorette Comets. Both teams have 22 points. Brandon Thiessen and Dawson Smith replied for the Huskies.

 

The St. Malo Warriors lost 3-2 in overtime to the North Winnipeg Satelites. Isaiah Sagriotis-Castaneda scored the winner 2:37 into OT for the Satelites. Jaden Gooselin and Ashton Dubois scored in regulation for the Warriors.

 

Nolan Ritchie scored his second goal of the game 3:46 into overtime as the Brandon Wheat Kings edged the Calgary Hitmen 3-2. Mason Ward also scored for the Wheat Kings who recorded two wins, a loss and an overtime loss on their four-game Alberta road trip.
