Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros threw touchdown passes to Dalton Schoen, Kenny Lawler and Nic Demski as the Blue Bombers bounced the B.C. Lions 50-14 Thursday night at IG Field. Collaros completed 19-of-27 pass attempts for 369 yards. Schoen also caught a late touchdown pass from backup quarterback Dru Brown. Lawler finished the night with seven catches for 200 yards. Brady Oliveira ran for 67 yards and two majors. Sergio Castillo kicked three field goals. The Bombers and Lions have identical 6-2 records and are tied for first place in the CFL West Division. 


Ike Bueckert of the Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club is in a tie for 17th place heading into the final round of the Provincial Senior Men's Golf Championship at the St. Boniface Golf Club in Winnipeg. Bueckert was seven-over par 79 for the second day in a row and trails second round leader Todd Fanning of Niakwa by 17 shots. Fanning is minus three through 36 holes. Barry Mymko of Quarry Oaks was 89 and is plus 27; Sheldon Bouchard of the Maplewood Golf Club in St. Pierre was 91 and is plus 30; Donald Troschuk of the Fly-In was 87 and is plus 34 while Les Forbes of Quarry Oaks was 104 and is plus 43. Rhonda Orr of Southwood was eight-over par 82 yesterday and leads clubmate Fran Povoledo by 10 shots heading into the final round of the Provincial Senior Women's Championship which is also at St. Boniface. Orr is plus 11 through two rounds.


Cala Korman of Killarney was 13-over par 85 Thursday and is in a tie for 78th place at plus 21 heading into the final round of the 109th Canadian Women's Amateur Golf Championship at the Ashburn Golf Club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Brooke Rivers of Brampton, Ontario was one-over par 73 and has the lead at minus nine. Lauren Kim of Surrey is two shots back. 


The Carillon Sultans will meet South Central and Pembina Hills today at Baseball Manitoba's Provincial 13U AAA Tier One championship at Optimist Park in Winnipeg. Carillon will face Bonivital and Winnipeg South at the Provincial 15U AAA Tier One championship which is also at Optimist Park.


The host Interlake Blue Jays had a win and a loss on day one of Baseball Canada's 22U Men's Championship at Quarry Park in Stonewall. The Jays edged Prince Edward Island 4-3 and fell 10-3 to Ontario (1). Interlake will face Nova Scotia tonight. The Elmwood Giants downed Quebec 8-2. The Giants will meet Saskatchewan and Ontario (2) today. 


The Kansas City Monarchs scored a total of ten runs in innings six-through-eight and defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes 13-4 at Legends Field. Miles Simington homered for the Fish. The Monarchs have outscored the Goldeyes 33-8 over the first three games of this six-game series.

The Eastman Wildcats U15 AAA softball team has qualified for the Nationals later this month in Brandon. Head coach Jason Plett will join Clayton Dreger on Sportsbeat which airs Fridays at 5:15 p.m. on AM 1250 Radio.
