We enjoyed more sunshine on Saturday than what was initially expected but we can expect a couple of days with less sun and more rain.

Environment Canada and Climate Change has issued a special weather statement that indicates a multiple day rainfall event expected for southeastern Manitoba.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin here in the Southeast on Sunday morning before tapering off overnight. Rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm are likely with much higher amounts possible in local heavy showers or thunderstorms.

Then, another band of rain is expected to begin Monday evening that will persist into Tuesday. Further rainfall amounts are uncertain but an additional 20 to 30 mm seems likely at this point.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Watch out for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. For more information concerning flooding please visit the province of Manitoba at: https://www.gov.mb.ca/flooding/index.html
