They want to provide a safe and caring community for all people involved with the Seine River School Division.  As a result the board has approved a new standard of behaviour policy.  Assistant Superintendent Helga Berger says the document will be given to parents, students and staff and lays out how the Division expects people to treat each other.  It teaches students what the expectation is in order to become a productive and valued member of a community.  And it clearly communicates to staff and parents how children are to be treated in the Division.  The board feels the qualities of belonging, acceptance, respect and dignity need to be used with all interactions with others.  Berger explains this is a teaching model designed to encourage people to adopt these methods rather than punishing them for misbehaviour.
