The Rural Municipality of La Broquerie will be spending just under $34,000 dollars to repair sections of Gueret Road and Ste. Joseph Road.

Last year La Broquerie received disaster funding from the province of Manitoba to do work on both roads however disaster funding can only be used for repair work rather than improvement and council has decided both roads need to be improved.

Reeve Lewis Weiss says council has awarded a contract to Fast Brothers to rebuild sections of Gueret Road for $13,392 and St. Joseph Road for $12,495.

"It is going to be dug down at least a foot and there will be two different kinds of aggregate put in there to correct it as well as geotextile cloth and do a proper repair in that section."

Once Fast Brothers have completed their work, ManCan Construction Company has been contracted by the municipality to repair the work that was done with disaster funding last year at no cost and fix frost boil sections for no more than $6,000.
