School closures are happening today and it probably feels a lot like last week when we had three snow days.

Many school divisions have already announced the closure of schools today including the Hanover School Division which has reported that it is keeping all schools closed today due to poor visibility creating hazardous winter driving conditions in open areas. Teachers are reassigned to work from home.

What will Mother Nature have in store for us today? Warming up to zero today and a gusting south wind.

Although it's not as cold as the extremely cold weather we had last week, and there's not a lot of snowfall, the big concern this morning is the blowing snow which is creating near zero visibility.

Cam McGavin is on the road this morning and says visibility is causing a lot of problems on the highways.

"Coming out of Kleefeld down 52, and down at 52 and 59 there's a bunch of vehicles in the ditch, and a jackknifed truck and trailer," he reports. "59 is a crawl. Right now, I'm on 59 just before Ile des Chênes and traffic is virtually at a stop."

McGavin says visibility is really poor this morning with zero visibility at times.

We can expect blowing snow this evening and overnight.
