The St. Paul Saints broke a 3-3 tie by scoring two runs in the bottom of the eighth as they defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes 5-3. St. Paul SS Steve Mays led the Saints with two RBIs and went 1-for-3 at the plate. Right fielder Argelis Nunez went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for the Saints, and CF Jonathan Van Every also went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Catcher Alex Garabedian was the only Saints batter to have two hits and also drove in a run. Saints relief pitcher Tyler Walker pitched 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the win, allowing just one hit during his appearance. Goldeyes 1B Luis Alen hit a two-run home run in the loss. Dispite the loss, the Goldeyes continue to lead the Saints by a single game for first place in the North Division. The Goldeyes return home to begin a four game series against Sioux Falls this evening.
