After a two-year hiatus, Raiders Day will be back this weekend.

Gavin Don, President of Eastman Raiders and his board have been planning and preparing for this day since January.

“This is the first real season we've had since 2019,” Don said. “It just coincides with our first games of the season and we're really quite excited about it,”

On Saturday, Raiders Day will have four games, a prize raffle table and visits from some special guests.

“We've got some special guests coming out to do the ceremonial coin toss before each game. The mayor has kindly agreed to come out and do that for our very first game this year.”

The two Cruncher teams kick off the day at 10 am and 11:30 am, the Atom team plays at 1 pm, and the Peewee team finishes the day at 3:30 pm.

For fall football, Don says that registration has gone well, noting that many of their teams have had oversubscriptions.

“It's been incredible,” Don said. “It's looking good for this season and also into next season when some of those players move onto the higher age category.”
