The Province has put more restrictions on fertilizer use.It is creating a buffer zone of a miniumum 3 metres along  waterways in Manitoba where homeowners, farmers, groundskeepers and municipalities will not be allowed to spread fertilizer.  Plus it is creating a buffer zone of 15 metres along vulnerable rivers that are drinking water sources such as the Red and Assiniboine rivers.  Water Stewardship Minister Christine Melnick says further restrictions will be announced this spring for the use of lawn fertilizers.
