Players Cup - Day One Is Over at The Ridge

Erik Barnes of Cape Coral, Florida has the lead after round one of the PGA TOUR Canada's Players Cup.

Barnes was eight under par 63 Thursday at Pine Ridge and has a one shot lead over Josh Creel of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Barnes and Creel both played in the same threesome along with 2012 champion Chris Killmer of Bellingham, Washington.

Killmer was four-over par 75.

Brock McKenzie of Coos Bay, Oregon is alone in third place after carding a five-under par 66.

Matt Hill of Sarnia is the low Canadian. The Sarnia native was four-under par 67.

42 golfers were even par or better on day one.

Reigning Manitoba junior champion Travis Fredborg was one-over par 72.

Josh Wytinck of Glenboro, who plays out of Pine Ridge, was three-over par 74. Wytinck was even par but faltered late with bogeys on holes 14, 15 & 17.

Defending Manitoba amateur champion Derek East was four-over par 75.
