The Steinbach Pistons won 23 of 30 games in 2021 and are now enjoying the holiday season and some much needed time away from the rink.

The Pistons (23-6-1) lead the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's East Division with 47 points and are 11 points ahead of the Winnipeg Blues and Winkler Flyers.

Steinbach swept two-game weekend series with the Virden Oil Capitals and West Division leading Dauphin Kings this month and split a pair of games up north with the OCN Blizzard.

The Pistons had a pair of six-game winning streaks during the 2021 portion of their schedule and only lost back-to-back games once.

That was November 12th and 13th to the Winnipeg Blues.

Will Hambley, who recorded back-to-back shutouts over the Virden Oil Capitals just before the start of the Christmas break, has a 13-1 record; a save percentage of 0.934 and a goals against average of 1.85.

Steinbach's first game of 2022 is January 7th against the Wolverines at Waywayseecappo.

Clayton Dreger asked Pistons head coach Paul Dyck how impressed he was with his players performance in their 3-0 & 4-0 victories over the Oil Capitals last weekend
