One person was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in La Broquerie Thursday afternoon.

Fire Chief Alain Nadeau says his crews were called to the intersection of Highway 52 and Nadeau Street around 3 PM.

Nadeau says a van, attempting to turn left onto Nadeau Street, had been rear-ended by a truck pulling a trailer. The ensuing damage, he says, was significant.

“The back of that van was pushed in almost three feet, there were a lot of car seats and strollers in there and we were really happy there was nobody in those.”

However, Nadeau indicates that the driver of the van was transported to hospital by ambulance with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 52, which was closed to all traffic as firefighters cleared the scene, was reopened in under an hour.
