Ste. Anne Mayor Richard Pelletier says he's proud of what they've been able to accomplish this past term and hopes to continue that into the next.

Pelletier has announced he will run for mayor this fall in the Town of Ste. Anne. Pelletier says it's been a very positive experience and they've been able to get a lot done. He notes according to the most recent census data, Ste. Anne is one of the fastest growing towns in all of Canada and he adds they are proud to be able to see that. Pelletier hopes to build on what they started in the past term.

"Keep the momentum going," says Pelletier,"we've done so much in my first term and we have so much to do." He notes one of their goals was to create recreation opportunities to attract young families. Pelletier says what they would like to look at in the next term is working with the RM of Ste. Anne and add some hiking and biking trails near the town. He notes building a stronger relationship with the RM was also a highlight from the past four years which he adds he would like to continue going forward.

Another goal Pelletier has for this term is to attract new businesses into town. "Housing has been booming so much and we're working so strong on that," notes Pelletier, "what that's going to create also is the fact that we want to bring in some small business. We want to bring in business that's going to serve our people that move here." He says there are several businesses looking to moving into Ste. Anne and he adds it's exciting to see that.

Pelletier says there are some street paving projects coming up throughout this summer and notes that is also another priority for the next term is to keep the streets and sidewalks in good shape. He adds they have a great team on council and hopes to be able to serve the community for four more years.
