A pedestrian was hit on Main Street while using the crosswalk near the Great Canadian Dollar Store and Quality Details this past weekend.

Steinbach RCMP say alongside EMS, they were called to the vehicle-pedestrian collision at 8:12 P.M Sunday.

Police say the pedestrian is an 18-year-old male from Blumenort and the driver is a 33-year-old male from Steinbach. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the collision and the pedestrian was transported to hospital in stable condition.

RCMP say the angle of the sun does appear to have played a part in the collision, however, the driver has been charged with a Careless Driving offence.
