Overnight Explosion Lights Up The Sky

Five houses near Otterburne were evacuated early Saturday morning after an explosion and fire at a natural gas pipeline.

Shortly after 1am, St Pierre RCMP responded to the fire in the RM of de Salaberry. Trans-Canada Pipeline has advised that the pipe is isolated and the burning gas was non-toxic.

RCMP along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner and Trans-Canada Pipeline continue to investigate. The cause of the explosion is not known at this time, and no injuries have been reported.
