A large power outage is being reported in Steinbach.
According to the Manitoba Hydro outage map, at its height, the outage affected 1,383 customers Thursday morning. The outage was on the north and east sides of town along the Loewen Boulevard and Hespeler Street corridors.
That said, the affected area has shrunk and the Manitoba Hydro outage map now shows a much smaller outage that runs along Hospital Street and across Loewen Boulevard.
A downed power line has also been reported near the old Steinbach Family Medical Clinic, however, Manitoba Hydro has not given confirmation that this is what is causing the outage.
The Steinbach Fire Department says a vehicle was responsible for pulling down the hydro line on Hospital Street.
A portion of Loewen Boulevard has been closed for much of the morning as crews deal with the downed line.
