New Year's Eve forecast and road conditions

The last day of 2023 will see a few flurries which will clear up for the evening. 

We can expect the temperature to reach –6 in the afternoon and then fall to –11 tonight with a southwest wind gusting up to 40 km/h. 

You might want to bundle up if you’re heading out this evening. It will be cold tonight with a windchill overnight of –19. 

New Year’s Day will be mainly sunny with a high of zero, but it will be windy. 

As of 10am on New Year’s Eve, most highways in the Southeast are bare. If you are travelling along Highway 12 south of Steinbach, you can expect snow packed sections. Highway 59 south of St. Malo is snow covered.
