Residents in the RM of La Broquerie will soon be flushing to a new location. Construction of the new 12 acre lagoon is complete. Reeve Ken Mantie says final tests are underway and it'll be about a month before they can open the site for business. Construction wrapped up about a month ahead of schedule. The lagoon is used by both the residents of the village and also by people in rural areas. He says new provincial regulations require homeowners to clean out their septic fields and it has to be hauled to a lagoon. Mantie explains this more than doubles the sewage capacity in the RM and ensures residential development will be able to continue without overloading the system.
