After hoisting the Turnbull Trophy for the first time in 12 years, the Dauphin Kings are set to begin their quest for the Centennial Cup.

The Manitoba Junior Hockey League champions play their round robin opener Friday against the Central Canada Hockey League champion Ottawa Jr. Senators.

The Kings will also meet the Maritime Junior Hockey League champion Summerside Western Capitals, Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League champion Soo Thunderbirds and the SJHL finalist Flin Flon Bombers.

The top three teams in each group will advance to the playoffs. The second and third place teams play in the quarterfinals. The winners will join the first place teams in the semifinals.

Clayton Dreger asked Dauphin Kings head coach Doug Hedley how it felt to win the Turnbull Trophy after his hockey team defeated the Steinbach Pistons 2-1 last Wednesday at the T.G. Smith Centre in the deciding seventh game of the MJHL final
