A woman and young child from British Columbia have gone missing and there is reason to believe they may have been in Manitoba last week.

Jacqueline Nelson and her infant son Kane were last seen by family on January 4th. Then, on January 24th, family received electronic communication, however, it has not been confirmed if that was directly from Nelson. A missing persons report was filed with RCMP that same day.

Late Thursday night, Police confirmed that they have reason to believe that Jacqueline may have been in Manitoba around January 27th, which was last week Thursday. This has yet to be confirmed and it is not known if she is still here.

Jacqueline Nelson is described as a 38-year old Caucasian woman, standing 5'3" tall and weighing approximately 115 pounds. She has red hair and blue eyes. Her son Kane Nelson is a Caucasian three-month-old child.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at (250) 748-5522.
