A past President of Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach will receive special recognition next month. Curator Roland Sawatzky tells us during their Touch Of Christmas weekend, they will hold a special ceremony to rename their temporary gallery, the Gerhard Ens Gallery. Sawatzky says Ens was the founding member of the Manitoba Mennonite Historical Society, was President of MHV , taught many years at Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna and is probably best known for his work with Mennonite history on low german radio. The renaming will take place December 4th at 3pm.

That same weekend, a new exhibit will be unveiled. It will be called "Mennonite Women Evolving" and will include art created by Bev Friesen and Gail Sawatzky. Sawatzky says this is an exhibit of their paintings which really explore how the roles of women have changed in Mennonite society over the last 50-100 years. The exhibit will run until late February or early March.

Touch Of Christmas runs December 3-5th.
