The Mennonite Heritage Village is hosting an author evening featuring James Urry, a Mennonite historian.

Robert Goertzen, Program Manager from MHV, says anyone who's got any connections to Grunthal and area will find this really interesting.

The book is called, On Stony Ground: Russländer Mennonites and the Rebuilding of Community in Grunthal.

Goertzen says it will be a wonderful evening.

"This is a story that maybe many of us haven't heard, so even if we don't have a connection, it'll be really interesting.”

The author will be attending virtually.

“But it'll be live, and so it'll be an interaction with the author. Come and enjoy the evening, talk to other people from the Grunthal area, or anyone else who's just interested in telling some of the local stories.”

You can meet Urry this Thursday, April 18th at 7pm. It's a free event with coffee and refreshments.
