Another playground is going up in the Town of Ste. Anne this summer. It will be located in Redemptorist Park.

Mayor Yvan St. Vincent says play structures are a valuable part of the growing community where many young families are living.

“It’s part of our development agreements all the time, that we’re making sure there’s some green space in there and some activities for the family,” he says. “And this (new structure) is just another piece to that puzzle.”

St. Vincent has noticed a growing demand for play spaces, especially as lot sizes are shrinking and more young families are moving into the community.

“People are always wondering if a park is coming into their neighbourhood or their area, all the time. And we’ve ensured that in every recent development we’ve done over the last five to eight years, that the greenspace is part of that development.”

The last play structure was installed only a year ago in the Falcon Bay neighbourhood.

The new one at Redemptorist Park is expected to be installed either this month or next month. The park already has a splash pad, a sheltered picnic area, washroom facilities, stage, swing set, and a walking path. There is also a small kitchen that can be rented for special events.
