A Saturday afternoon storm left some areas of the southeast covered in a white blanket of hail.

The storm rolled through mid-afternoon dropping, at times, loonie sized hail. The storm cut a path just miles south of Steinbach with large amounts of rain in St. Pierre and hail in Kleefeld, south of Mitchell and Friedensfeld.

Manitoba Agriculture weather stations reported the following rain amounts:

St. Pierre 51mm
Gardenton 26.4mm
Steinbach 5.6mm

Severe Thunderstorm Watches were issued by Environment Canada just before noon Saturday, with the first Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued mid-afternoon.
