Eighteen thousand students from across Manitoba took in the sights and sounds of WE Day  on Tuesday.

It's an annual event held in Canadian cities motivating young people to take action on global and local issues. The Manitoba stop was at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.

Many of those in attendance were students from Hanover School Division.

Students told us after, they learned that anything is possible if you give it your all. Others said they learned that even young people can make change.

The WE Day lineup included a speech from former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and performances by Shawn Desman and Victoria Duffield.
