P.A. Parenteau scored in regulation and got the shootout winner as the New York Islanders edged the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 at MTS Centre. Parenteau and Frans Nielsen beat Winnipeg goaltender Ondrej Pavelec in the shootout while Islanders netminder Evgeni Nabokov stopped attempts by Blake Wheeler and Kyle Wellwood.
Nik Antropov and Andrew Ladd scored in regulation for the Jets. Pavelec finished the night with 31 saves and was the reason the Jets salvaged a single point. St. Malo's Travis Hamonic drew an assist on Michael Grabner's 10th goal of the season which gave the Islanders a 2-1 lead 3:53 into the second period. Hamonic saw plenty of ice-time on Tuesday night as he played almost 29 minutes.

Winnipeg (15-13-5) played without centerman Bryan Little who took a shot off the foot in the Jets' 5-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks this past Saturday. Antti Miettinen played his first game with Winnipeg since he was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lighting on December 13th.
The Jets will wrap up their six-game homestand with games against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.
