Jacob (Jake) Doerksen
July 25, 1970 — May 28, 2024

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jacob Doerksen on May 28, 2024 at the age of 53.
Jacob will be deeply missed by his mom, Elma. Brothers: Henry (Susan), Peter (Rhonda), John (Christine), Ray (Natascha) and sisters: Marie (Normand), Helena (Jim), Lin (Cal), Rose (John), Diane (Art), Lorraine (Ed) along with several nieces and nephews.
Jacob was predeceased by his dad, Cornelius, niece Lisa, brother-in-law Donald and nephew Alfred.

Jake had an incredible work ethic and would do amazing work in everything he put his mind to. Jake had many struggles throughout his life. There were also many things that Jake enjoyed. He loved children, enjoyed farming, fishing, cooking and watching the sunrise and sunset.

As we grieve the loss of Jake, we find encouragement and reflect on the verses he had highlighted in his bible.
“Declare me innocent, O Lord, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and affections. For I am constantly aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth. I do not spend time with liars or go along with hypocrites. I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked. I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your miracles.” “I have taken a stand, and I will publicly praise the Lord.” Psalm 26:1-7,12

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Mennonite Church. Viewing will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in the church cemetery following the service. For those unable to attend in person the family invites you to join them through livestream.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eden Mental Health or a charity of one's choice.
