Can you believe this is January?? Great to have CMOS accredited weather specialist Chris Sumner join us this morning and he talked about why it's so warm right now. In fact, it's not just warm -- this could be a record breaking day -- you see, the record high for Jan 5th in Winnipeg was 4.3 back in 1984, Gretna was 5 set in 1958, Pilot Mound 4.4 , Portage 5 degrees in 1984,  and Brandon was 4 degrees in '84 as well. In fact, when we chatted this morning -- temperatures were already in the 3-6 degree range!! As for snow? Until we see that cold Arctic air burst out of Northern Canada we will not see snow... the jet stream has to move WAY further south for any changes to happen.  So, there you go... I guess all that's left to do now is enjoy the warmth.
