He has been at the helm since day one, but the Chief Executive Officer for Bridgepark Manor Inc. in Steinbach has announced his retirement.

Bridgepark Manor Inc. is a community based private not-for-profit corporation. It currently owns and operates Bridgepark Manor, a 131 unit assisted living housing project.

Sieg Hiebert was hired as CEO on August 1st, 2011. Three months later, they opened their doors. Now, 11 years later, Hiebert has decided it is time to retire.

"I feel very fortunate that I've been a part of this vision here and being part of the implementation of it," notes Hiebert. "So, it was time to start a new chapter."

Hiebert says Bridgepark Manor today is more than he could ever have dreamed.

"We just feel very blessed how things have all worked, beyond our expectations," he admits. "The building has been well received in Steinbach."

Hiebert says not only have they been accepted by the community, but there has also been government support and all of this translates into a welcome place for seniors to spend their last chapters in life.

According to the Bridgepark Manor Board of Directors, Hiebert's vision and passion for serving residents are what allowed Bridgepark to expand over the years in both the number of units offered as well as services provided. The board says Hiebert will be remembered as a hardworking, dedicated, caring person and is a true example of servant leadership.

The board says it searched diligently to find the best qualified candidate to succeed Hiebert. Bonnie Begalke has been named their next CEO. Begalke is currently Director of Housing at HavenGroup.

Hiebert says their property is full and so there are no immediate plans for expansion. However, he notes they do have more land and if the Board of Directors decides in the future on a specific project, that is still a possibility.

Hiebert, whose last day will be January 10th, says after retiring, he and his wife Wanda plan to visit their children and only grandson in England, often.
