Manitoba's Health Critic wants to know why it's taking so long to get generic drugs approved in our province.Kelvin Goertzen says the committee that takes care of these approvals hasn't met for 7 months and he wants the Health Minister to do something.  The MLA for Steinbach tells us name brand drugs lose their patent after a while, allowing for generic drugs that cost less and save us a lot of money.  However, since the committee hasn't met for a while to approve these drugs, there's a backlog.  Goertzen says he's asked the Health Minister to push the committee back to work.  So far, we haven't heard any dates as to when things will get going again.
