The Winnipeg Goldeyes gave up five runs in the bottom of the first inning and lost 8-4 to the Sioux Falls Pheasants. Wes Long drilled a three-run homer for the Goldeyes who dropped all three games of the series at Sioux Falls Stadium and were swept for the first time this season. Winnipeg first baseman Brian Myrow had three hits. The Goldeyes (41-26) , who will play their first of three straight in Sioux City on Monday night, are two games ahead of the St. Paul Saints in the race for first place in the American Association's North Division.
