A popular kid's program in Grunthal is nearing the end, with only two sessions to go.

ReConnecting Kids with Nature started on May 7th for children 5 years and younger.

Grunthal Parks and Recreation Board Chair Kristine Braun says the weekly sessions are well attended.

“Lots of people are interested in this and they love it,” Braun says. “The kiddos have a great time and it’s really great for the community.”

Each time they meet, there’s a different theme.

Last week, children learned about our solar system and planet Earth.

“Usually, we pair the book with a craft, and it goes together.”

After a few fun stories, children used their imagination while gazing up at the clouds and then they got busy with crafts, making constellations with playdough, and building clouds with cotton balls.

They also created some animals with foam and had some fun with bubbles.

There are two weeks left in this program.

Each session includes a variety of information that is shared in a fun way, with related crafts and activities.
